2022 Registration Begins December 1st

Hello Parents,

We are excited to announce registration for the 2022 season will begin early this year on December 1st.

There is a lot of information here but we encourage you to read all of it so you have a full understanding of what’s coming for the 2022 season. 

Registration will begin December 1st through February 3rd   (Discounted Early Bird Pricing Dec 1st – Jan 14th)

We are all familiar with recent shortages in products and supplies impacting pretty much every product and store at this time.  We are trying to be proactive so we can guarantee we have all necessary uniforms and equipment needed for our season.  As you know, we personalize every jersey which requires more materials and longer lead times.  We want our kids to have this same experience this year.  With this in mind, we have decided to move up our registration to confirm we can get everything in time for the season to begin. 

Once player evaluations have been completed the teams are selected.  We cannot accept any more kids after the registration deadline as this will change the competitive balance of the teams and add more bench time for other kids.  We try to keep the team rosters at a level to absorb a few kids missing games, and also try to reduce having many kids sitting on the bench.  We also need to know how many coaches to recruit and adding kids later impacts those numbers as well. 

So please register before the February 3rd deadline.

2022 Registration Fees and (Early Bird Discount)

  • December 1st – January 14th = Early Bird Registration - $160
  • January 14th – February 3rd = Full Registration- $185
  • Tee Ball will be $75 per child and run through February 18th 

Multiple Child Discount

If you have 2 or more kids you will receive a discount but must register them all at the same time.  Discounts are as follows:

  • 2 kids - $25
  • 3 kids - $75
  • 4 or more kids - $100

What’s Included:

  • Uniform Shirt, Hat, and Socks (Pants are not included)
  • You will need to purchase cleats, pants, and an athletic supporter
  • All safety equipment will be provided but it is highly recommended you purchase you own helmet, bat, and batting gloves
  • 1 month of practices are anticipated before the season begins
  • We estimate a 12-game schedule plus playoffs.(Tee Ball will play 6-8 games)

Anticipated League Calendar (May be subject to change):

  • Player Evaluations for 7-12 year old Baseball and Softball – Feb 5th
  • Team Selections and Player Drafts for 7-14 year old: Feb 7th – Feb 11th
  • Uniforms ordered: Feb 14th – Feb 18th
  • Tee Ball Registration Ends: Feb 18th
  • Teams Announced: Feb 15th – Feb 20th
  • Indoor Practices may begin: Feb 19th
  • Field Practices begin: March 21st
  • Tee Ball Practices Begin: March 21st
  • Easter Sunday: April 17th
  • Games Begin: April 25th
  • Opening Day: April 30th
  • Playoffs Begin: June 11th

Volunteers Needed

During the registration process you will have the option to volunteer.  We are always looking for new Head Coaches and Assistants, but also looking for League Volunteers to help with selling merchandise, fundraising, distribution of team supplies, field assistance, team moms, pictures, etc.  Please volunteer if you would like to get involved.

Field Improvements and Updates

Many of you know last year we had extreme field pressure due to the year off from COVID.  I am very happy to announce that the Boroughs of Oceanport and West Long Branch have really stepped up to help.  Renovations are planned for Community Center in Oceanport and we expect to have the field ready for March 1st.  West Long Branch has already completed a major infield renovation at Valenzano Park for the 90-foot field and is in planning stages to make upgrades to Michael Thorne Park before March 15th.   Thank you to both Borough Councils for their commitment to making these improvements.

We are currently still in talks with Monmouth Beach to hopefully make necessary improvements to Griffin St for this upcoming season,  but there are currently no plans from the Borough Council for 2022.  There is a Borough plan in place for 2023.

There will be more details posted for the 2022 season for events and activities once plans are finalized.  These include Opening Day, Team Photos, Blue Claws Fundraiser, Swag Sales, and new events for this year.  Please keep an eye out in your email or on our website for more information.
